The Board of Directors has voted to increase dues for 2014. This is necessitated by the fact that the Club has been running deficits on its operating expenses compared to normal revenues (primarily dues) for the last three years. During the last three years, we have had to withdraw money from the boathouse fund account and rely on fundraising by the Youth to balance our budget. The major expenses associated with equipment acquisition have necessitated these actions. The Board believes that the Club should not rely on the boathouse funds and Youth fundraising to pay for our annual expenses. Information we have obtained regarding the dues at other rowing clubs indicates that Swan Creek’s dues remain on the low side.
