Who We Are
The Swan Creek Rowing Club, a nonprofit organization, is named for Swan Creek—a key tributary that flows through Lambertville, New Jersey, into the Delaware River. Founded in 1992 by individuals dedicated to promoting the sport of rowing in the area, the club originally launched from Lewis Island. Today, we are proudly located behind the Lambertville Inn right by the Lambertville Boat Ramp.
Our membership is diverse, welcoming individuals from all backgrounds and experience levels—from complete novices to seasoned rowers. While many members developed their skills in college, others discovered the sport through our Learn-to-Row programs and stayed. What unites us is a shared love of the river and the camaraderie that comes with rowing.
New members without prior experience receive hands-on instruction in boat handling, entering and exiting the shell, and the fundamentals of both sculling and sweep rowing. The club is chartered to teach and promote rowing, with the core mission of making the sport accessible to anyone with the desire to learn.
Once you are qualified member of the club, you are free to row on your own schedule. The rowing season typically runs from April through November, depending on river conditions.
For those interested in competition, the club participates in several regattas each year as a team, and individual members often compete independently throughout the region. We also offer regular coaching opportunities for members who want to develop their technique and performance.
