Hello SCRC!
Below are the details for the SPLASH event I mentioned in my last update.

Date: May 31th from 9am to 1pm
Location: The Boat Site

Prior to the intra-club races we will have a special membership meeting. We are starting another great rowing season, therefore I want to ensure that all members have the needed information to keep safe on the water.

The Club has arranged for The Eagle Fire Company to give Swan Creek Rowers a ~30 minute presentation on water safety. This is valuable information for all Club Members and they will learn what to do and not do in the event of an emergency out on the water. We encourage all members to attend this session and hear directly from the men and women who may come to your rescue some day! We will also roll out the updated SCRC procedures which include river safety / navigation.

The Intra-Club Regatta will follow immediately after the membership meeting, and is open to all Club members (Youth, Masters Women, Masters Men), Races will be held in all types of boats 1x / 2x / 4+ / 8+ and team selection is random seating in each event. The SPLASH is a very informal / fun race and gives members an opportunity to row with people they normally would not see around the boat site.

Each race will be ~500 meters (south of the free bridge to the SPLASH) with two boats each race (kind of like Henley). We will have as many heats as need so all can compete. Please contact Board Member Nick Colvin  if you would like to participate and throw your name into the Hat!

For a small donation, the youth Booster will provide food during the event, so bring the family for lunch!
