“When the Swan Creek Rowing Club was formed in Lambertville, they took the advice of Fred Lewis, whose family continues a traditional shad fishery on the Delaware River, and developed a flag warning system. The club teaches newcomers about the flags and regularly posts reminders on its website. It’s the same kind of system used to warn swimmers at the Jersey Shore of water conditions, and one that is now being advocated for implementation at launch sites along the Delaware River.“Read the full article here.
