Low Water / Save the Date for the Fall Splash!

Hello SCRC!

I hope your summer has been a good one! We have two for you in this update:

Low Water:

Check out the website for Murray’s picture of the family of turtle on the rock by the 500meter mark on the PA side. Great picture! However this means LOW WATER! The river will be down to 8ft by this weekend. Please use caution by the free bridge, the shoals & the new turtle rock. The 8+’s are the biggest concern; we suggest using the smaller boats until the water level comes up, the Shark should not be used during this time since it draws the most water.

That said, The Men’s team is looking to go to Lake Nox this Saturday. We plan on leaving the Boat site at 6:30 am and will take the Shark (since it will be too low to row on the Delaware).  We just need to secure someone to pull the big trailer. Please contact me later in the week for an update if you are interested in going.

Save the Date:

September 13th is the date for the SCRC Fall SPLASH! The Fall event will be part of the 200 th   Anniversary of the New Hope – Lambertville Bridge! (see link below, the SPLASH will be the River Sports exhibition). The event will be similar to the May SPLASH, however the finish line will be just down river of the free bridge so spectators can view the races from the Inn at Lambertville Station patio!
