SafeSport Training Required in 2022 (posted Dec. 29, 2021)
US Rowing is updating its Safe Sport program per the U.S. Center for Safe Sport, a center authorized by Congress to help abuse prevention, education, and accountability take root in every sport. Safe Sport is designed to assure athlete safety by promoting and enforcing policies and programs that address: bullying, hazing, harassment (including sexual harassment), emotional misconduct, physical misconduct, and sexual misconduct (including child sexual abuse and/or grooming behaviors). While the primary focus is to safeguard children, these policies extend to all age groups including masters and college level.

US Rowing will require all adult members to complete the SafeSport Training, which ensures that all members are familiar with Safe Sport policies, including what constitutes a violation and how to report a violation.  All adult club members, coaches, and parent volunteers must complete the Safe Sport Training every year. Training will be tracked on your US Rowing membership profile. The U.S. Safe Sport Center created the training. The process to access the training is changing and details will be provided when received in early 2022.
