Adult Learn-to-Row Program

Rowing encompasses so many benefits — fitness, socializing, recreation, and competition — and guess what it’s never too late to start.

Swan Creek Rowing Club’s popular Learn-to-Row (LTR) program is the starting point for anyone interested in the sport. Participants are taught all the fundamentals of the stroke and are introduced to the basic skill set used to coordinate movements within the boat. Emphasis is on learning in a fun, pressure-free environment.

  • Swimming ability is required.
  • Rowing attire is close-fitting shorts or pants and a t-shirt; additional layers depending on weather; gym shoes for land sessions; water sandals for walking in the water for launching and returning; socks for in the boat.
  • You must be able to lift 30 lbs above your head and carry it uphill for 50 yards.
